Your privacy matters to us.
Computers by Geeks ("CbG," "we," "us," or "our") is a managed IT services company. We provide remote support, managed services, and cybersecurity solutions to small and mid-sized businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using our website (computersbygeeks.com) or engaging our services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Short version: We collect only what we need to run our business and support our clients. We don't sell your personal information. Ever.
Information we collect.
We collect information in two ways: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically when you visit our site.
Information you provide
- Contact and inquiry data — name, business name, email address, phone number, and any details you share when you fill out a contact form, book a consultation, or send us a message.
- Account data — credentials and profile information you create when accessing the client portal.
- Support and service data — details you provide when submitting a support ticket, including descriptions of technical issues, screenshots, or remote-access session data necessary to resolve your request.
- Payment data — billing name, address, and payment method details, processed securely through our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Communications — the content of emails, calls, or messages you send us for support or general inquiries.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, and browser interactions, collected via analytics tools.
- Device and log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, and other standard HTTP request data logged by our web server.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see the Cookies section below for full details.
Information from third parties
If you book a consultation through a scheduling tool (e.g., Calendly), that platform may share your name, email, and calendar details with us to facilitate the appointment.
How we use your information.
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and deliver the IT services you've contracted with us.
- Schedule and conduct free consultations and assessments.
- Process invoices and payments for services rendered.
- Send service-related communications — ticket updates, maintenance notices, and renewal reminders.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and improve our service delivery.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our service agreements.
- Analyze aggregate, anonymized usage trends to improve our website.
We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, data brokering, or any purpose unrelated to delivering IT services to you.
Managed services and technical support.
In the course of providing managed IT services, cybersecurity services, remote support, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting, we may access, process, or store information contained within client systems, devices, networks, email systems, logs, backups, and other technology resources. We access such information only as reasonably necessary to provide requested services, maintain system security, fulfill contractual obligations, or comply with applicable law.
- Remote sessions — when conducting a remote support session, our technicians may view your screen, access files, and interact with applications needed to complete the requested work. Sessions may be logged for quality assurance and audit purposes.
- Monitoring agents — under managed service agreements, we may install software agents on your endpoints and servers to perform continuous health monitoring, patch management, and security alerting. These agents collect device telemetry (hardware status, software inventory, event logs) and transmit it to our management platform.
- Network access — network configuration and security engagements may require temporary access to routers, firewalls, switches, or cloud environments. Credentials shared with us for this purpose are stored in an encrypted credential vault and are revoked or rotated upon project completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We do not access client systems outside the scope of the services described in your service agreement. We do not copy, retain, or use client data for any purpose beyond service delivery.
Client data
When providing managed services, we may process information on behalf of our clients. In those circumstances, we act as a service provider or data processor and handle such information solely in accordance with our contractual obligations to the client. Requests regarding personal information maintained on behalf of a client — including access, correction, or deletion requests — should generally be directed to that client organization, not to us directly.
How long we keep data.
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
- Active client records — retained for the duration of the service relationship plus 7 years, to satisfy tax and accounting requirements.
- Support tickets — retained for 3 years after ticket closure to support continuity and auditing.
- Contact form inquiries — retained for 2 years if no service agreement is entered into.
- Website analytics — aggregate data is retained indefinitely; IP-level data is anonymized within 90 days (or such shorter period as configured in our analytics platform).
When retention periods expire, we securely delete or anonymize the data.
How we protect your data.
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:
- TLS encryption for all data in transit.
- Encrypted storage for data at rest on cloud and local systems.
- Multi-factor authentication enforced on all internal systems and portals.
- Endpoint protection and monitoring on all staff devices.
- Role-based access control — staff can only access data relevant to their role.
- Regular security reviews and software patching.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take every reasonable precaution, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account or data has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@computersbygeeks.com.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
